Edmund Yeo

Edmund Yeo is a Malaysian filmmaker based in Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo. His short films KINGYO (Venice, 2009) and INHALATION (Sonje Award, Busan, 2010) marked him as a distinctive new voice. He won Best Director at the Tokyo International Film Festival for his feature AQERAT (We, The Dead) in 2017, and later directed MALU (2020) and MOONLIGHT SHADOW (2021), adapted from Banana Yoshimoto’s novella. Yeo frequently collaborates with Woo Ming Jin as producer, writer, and editor, contributing to films screened at Venice, Cannes, Locarno, and Toronto.
