Half a lifetime alone, Li Baicheng is a folk fortune-teller. At the age of 40, he met a disabled Shi Pearl and two people began to live together. He lives by telling fortune in the northern urban-rural fringe. Most of those who come to him are prostitutes laden with anxiety. In the length of a long volume and in the form of traditional Chinese serial novels, the whole film shows the different states of social marginal figures.
