The film is based on a true story of a relative who was hit in his hometown. When we arrived at the scene, we asked them if they had called the police. They said they didn’t. They said they didn’t call the police because they couldn’t get reimbursed if they did. Then they thought there must be something wrong with them for putting up with it so much, and then they decided to solve the case first and then report it to the police. In my mind, this is quite absurd, there is a kind of identity dislocation, and then I made such a film.
