Guided by the concept of “Nianxiao Flowers” (traditional Chinese New Year floral displays), this film traces their cultivation, trade, exhibition, appreciation, and purchase, revealing the intricate web of people, events, objects, and locations connected through these floral narratives. In essence, it chronicles the “flower journey” of Nianxiao. This narrative structure subtly conveys an emotional arc: from the tranquil agrarian life to the intricate commercial networks, then to the orderly government-regulated commerce, and finally to the collective immersion in floral splendor and festive joy. The film’s inherent rhythm enhances audience engagement and emotional resonance.
