We Outlaws

In the early 1990s, trans people lived in a world that was unknown. Usually "he" is Chen Shi, an ordinary worker in a textile workshop. In the dance hall, "she" is a spring grass in a red dress. The life of dual gender will be separated. "He" imitates the female worker Liu Yumei of the textile factory in the textile factory and goes to the ballroom at night. "She" loves the man Li Guotao and pushes all her parts as women to the extreme. She is increasingly eager to be recognized and increasingly eager to be herself.

Director Statement
In 1979 to 1997, Chinese Criminal Law was establishing the Indecent Crime. In these years, a lot of people got caught who just some men or women wanted to love each other. In this story, We Outlaws, I talked about a man who wanted to be a woman and to get love. When HE realized that HE was a SHE
the storm began to take shape.
I wanted to say something for LGBTQ, because in Chinese, they still are a group of demon to some people even now. My friends just couldn't imagine what was happened to them thirty years ago
so I shoot this short film to tell.
